What wall opening is required for my cooling system?
- The wall opening size for a specific cooling system can be found either in the manual that comes with your system or on the Wall Openings Chart which also has dimensions for fans and heaters. The Chart is available in standard and metric versions.
Does my cooling system need to be installed on a slope?
- Only the CM systems need to be installed on a slope of 1/4" for every 10 feet of system length. CR and CS systems should be installed level.
What can I do to reduce mineral (calcium) deposits on my cooling system?
- Use a soft bristle brush to remove the mineral deposits (white flakes) from the pads. Be sure to brush from top to bottom.
- Bleed off water continuously. Start with 1 gallon per hour for each linear foot of cooling system and adjust as needed.
- For more recommendations to keeping your cooling system working at peak efficiency see the AeroFacts – Cooling Systems.
What can I do to reduce algae build up on my cooling system?
- Shade the pad and sump without restricting airflow.
- Dry pad out completely each night.
- Use aligicide in tank. See Algae Control on Cooling Pads.
- For more recommendations to keeping your cooling system working at peak efficiency see the AeroFacts – Cooling Systems.
What is the most common problem when a heater will not operate?
- The burner needs to be cleaned.
- The fuse is blown.
- The air temperature is not low enough for the thermostat setting to start the heater.
