Five Heat Components for Better Plant Growth

  1. HEAT SOURCE: Delta T can design a heat source specifically for the heat loss of the structure or the output of the radiation. The heat source can use various types of fuels ranging from fuel oil, natural or propane gas, to heat exchangers using steam, waste heat from electric plants or geothermal wells.
  2. AIR AND WATER CONTROLS: Delta T can help with the controls which regulate system water pressure and eliminate air trapped in the system. As simple as it sounds these components are critical parts of the overall system.
  3. PUMP: Delta T provides pumps that transport the water through the piping from the heat source to the radiation system. The system controls then monitor the soil/plant temperature and regulate the pumps and heat sources accordingly.
  4. SYSTEM PIPING: The system piping carries the water from the heat source to the radiation system. In a low temperature system the piping can be PVC, but in a higher temperature system it must be copper or steel. Delta T Solutions can supply any or all of these to make a complete package.
  5. RADIATION: Being the most important component, radiation refers to the material the heat flows through to the crops.
Delta T selects radiation materials for each system based on materials that make each particular system the most efficient. Your specific needs are taken into account with regard to heat loss requirements, bench or bed configuration,t ype of crop and other factors such as geographic location. It may be necessary to use more than one type of radiation to satisfy the heating requirements of the greenhouse.

Delta T designs all aspects of the heating system so it can be installed by either a contractor or owner, depending on the type of system. Installation instructions and diagrams illustrating pipe size, location and control wiring are included to make the installation simple.

Delta T provides up-to-date electronic controls to monitor the temperature in the greenhouse and soil. Delta T can design the system to be controlled by an environmental control computer system that will regulate all aspects of the greenhouse environment. All components of a system can be designed by Delta T to provide optimal heating results.

Hot Water Heating Systems

Delta T hot water heating systems utilize the physics of heat to efficiently heat plants. Putting the heat under the plant allows the heat source to react faster to temperature changes at the plant level. Heating from below offers a more constant temperature, better plant quality, and lowers heating costs.
