HOW TO CHOOSE A DOSMATIC INJECTOR
Choosing Your Dosing Pump
Dosmatic offers a complete line of chemical injectors to meet your market application needs. Before purchasing any non-electric fluid (water) driven injector you must first determine the following:
The maximum flow rate in GPM (gallons per minute)
Dosmatic recommends selecting an dosing pump, which has a GPM that is120% of your normal maximum operating flow rate. For example, if your normal operating flow rate is 24GPM, selecting an injector with a 30 GPM or greater will decrease the chance of damage should a sudden flow surge occur. And a higher GPM injector will not be at full capacity of your normal operating flow rate, this will help extend the life of the motor.
Your minimum and maximum operating pressure in PSI (pounds per square inch)
Dosmatic recommends selecting an injector that PSI is 120% of your maximum operating pressure requirements. This allows for variance within the fluid(water) system. For example, if normal flow pressure is 80 PSI,then selecting an injector at 100 PSI or higher will decrease the risk of pressure surge damage to the unit.
Your adjustable injection percentage/ratio of chemical concentrate to water (fluid)
For optimum injection results, select an dosing pump where your desired injection percentage (ratio) is within the top 3/4 of the sleevesinjection range (see diagram A). For example, if your percentage (ratio) concentrate is 2.5% (1:40) and the injector’s total injection rage is from 1% (1:100) to 5% (1:20) then 2.5 % (1:40) is within the top 75% of the sleeves injection range and will meet your injection needs. If your desired injection was 1.5% (1:66) then you should select another injector series where the 1.5% (1:66) is within the top 75% of the sleeves injection range.
Which injector do you need? Select your metering pumps based on your flow rates, injection and operating pressure.
