Most insect screens are plastic/polyester and come in various light covers and can be cut, sewn and sized to your greenhouse and agricultural needs.

Minimum order is $500 depending upon quantity, type and dimensions. Large orders available from various international warehouses. Not appropriate for retail use.

Some growers have reduced their pesticide use by 90% using Svensson Xsect in combination with insect-free stock and good sanitation. In addition to being the most effective, it is also the least expensive form of prevention.

Plan your greenhouse crop production and IPM program in advance. Using good sanitation and exclusion is the key to properly managing your growing environment. Design your ventilation system to handle the pressure loss form insect screens.

Here are some helpful tips for excluding insects from your greenhouse:

  • Xsect Insect Screen generally must have openings as small or smaller than the insects it excludes.
  • Any Xsect Insect Screen will reduce the number of insects migrating into crops.
  • Xsect Insect Screen must be sized appropriately to avoid hampering ventilation.
  • Use Xsect Insect Screen to screen vents and doorways.
  • Keep doors closed, except when entering or leaving the greenhouse.
  • Construct a screened vestibule at greenhouse entrances. Workers and equipment must pass through a plant-free space between two sets of doors before entering the growing area.
  • Create a positive pressure entrance by installing fans so that they blow into the space between the doors causing air to
    flow from inside to outside.
  • Xsect Insect Screen must be cleaned periodically. Use a stream of water to wash from inside to out.

Xsect insect screens are woven from UV stabilized acrylic and HDPE yarn. These materials are warranted for a long working life even when used outside. All Xsect insect screens are a translucent white in color. Various types of Xsect insect screens have rectangular openings rather than square. The advantage is that rectangular openings have more open area than square openings and result in better ventilation. Warranties up to 5 years are available if the Xsect insect screen is properly installed and maintained. Other widths, cutting and sewing available upon request.
We offer greenhouse and nursery insect screens fabric from other sources in Europe/Asia and other factories worldwide.
